Dear USGAPN-MN Intercessors,
Changes have been under way in the national prayer movement, including the USGAPN. During this process it was difficult to see how all of this was going to turn out. Regardless of what happened on the national level, however, we determined that Minnesota would continue pursuing its destiny as God’s threshing floor for the nation. I am happy to report that we now have enough information to communicate with you. Thank you all for your patience during this process.
USGAPN-MN
Most of you are aware that the USGAPN-MN (the Minnesota component of the US Global Apostolic Prayer Network) has been covered apostolically by Chuck Pierce of Glory of Zion. In late 2007, Chuck Pierce made it known that, under the leading of the Lord, he would not continue in his role of apostolic leadership over the USGAPN after January 1, 2008. This change means that the USGAPN as a name will go out of existence. However, the team of intercessors that we have assembled together in Minnesota will continue to operate as usual. We will have a new name, but the essence of who we are will continue to be the same.
Introducing the Minnesota Prayer Alliance (MNPA)
After much prayer and discussion, it is with great excitement that we announce that we will go forward as the Minnesota Prayer Alliance (MNPA). Please notice the word “Alliance.” The Internet dictionary, Wikipedia, states that an alliance “is an agreement between two or more parties, made in order to advance common goals and to secure common interests.” We will make alliances with national ministries and kingdom organizations that are seeking to bring their strategies to Minnesota. We will also make alliances with intercessors and state and local ministries and kingdom organizations within Minnesota to provide a strong, cohesive platform for advancing common goals and securing common interests.
Our mission
The MNPA will facilitate prayer, worship and intercession through alliances with intercessors and national, state, and local organizations in the pursuit of spiritual awakening and revival in the state of Minnesota.
Prophecy
The Lord has said that this ministry will include 10,000 intercessors within the state of Minnesota—that is 10,000 allies who will stand and contend for the kingdom of God.
Apostolic covering
My ministerial calling is apostolic in nature and I am already serving in this capacity. For over ten years I have served as the Apostolic Coordinator of the USGAPN-MN, and its predecessor organizations. I believe that the Lord is calling me now to serve as the apostolic covering for the MNPA. Additionally, for over fifteen years I have also served as the Regional Vice President for the Central USA Region of Harvest Evangelism. I will continue to oversee the ministry in this region, which includes the state of Minnesota. As a leader, I am personally accountable to Ed Silvoso, Founder, President and CEO, of Harvest Evangelism, Inc. See http://www.harvestevan.org/the-mission-of-harvest-evangelism.html
MNPA organization
The Apostolic Council and the Advisory Council will continue to serve in their respective roles. We will continue to pursue the development of our Geographic Leadership Team which will eventually include 15 Regional Coordinators, 11 Native American Reservation Coordinators and 80 County Coordinators. NOTE: There are 87 counties in Minnesota—the 7 counties in the Twin Cities have been classified as regions.
National alliances
There are national ministries such as the US Apostolic Alliance (Dutch Sheets), the US Reformation Prayer Network (Cindy Jacobs), the Call (Lou Engle), and others who will be seeking to bring their initiatives to Minnesota. We desire and will urge them to see the MNPA as the vehicle through which their initiatives will be deployed in Minnesota. We will work toward an agreement with each of these organizations as to what we are able to provide for them.
Our website
A new website will be coming. Our existing website, www.usgapn-mn.org will continue in operation until we can obtain the funding to replace it with a new website containing our new name.
God bless you,
Rick Heeren
MNPA Apostolic Coordinator
